Rome ‘Round CC (formerly Steve’s Trailers) was founded in the early 1980’s by Anthony (Tony) Weedon, specialising in Trailer Hire, Manufacture of Trailers & Associated Services, Rubberising (Polyurethane Bakkie Linings) and the fitment of Towbars & Accessories.

This is what Tony has to say:

“I started the business in 1984, in a partnership. At the time it seemed (by having a partner) a bottomless pit. I persevered for a year, but then I had to close the business, however, 2 days later I started again, but this time, on my own.

Since then, I haven't looked back. Needless to say, there have been many hair-raising times and experiences along the way. Having started the business from scratch, with limited resources, did make life interesting to say the least! However, I always ensured that the wages were paid and I was then able to take what was left, sometimes very little or nothing. All the time though, I had faith and a strong belief that I would succeed, all I had to do was hold on! By learning to accept faith and to believe in it has given me the ability to carry on, knowing that I would make it. All through this my slogan was, and still is today, P and P,-- Patience and Perseverance.

I have a “hands on” approach, as the business is my life and passion. I have forfeited, sacrificed and lost too much in the past, and I look after the present to ensure a good future.

Of the current staff members, 5 have more than 20 years of service with me, thus assuring our customers that we surely do know what we are doing.

During 2010, Ross, my son joined the business. This has always been my hope and wish since I started in 1984. This is one of my dreams that has now been fulfilled.”
